A digital operator runs the capture side of a shoot so the photographer can stay on the picture. Digital operator, digi op and digi tech are three names for the same job. DigiOp is led by Dylan Madden, a Dublin based digi tech with over 10 years of experience in digital capture management, working with professional photographers in studio and on location across Ireland.
What we handle on set
We run the tethered capture from camera to screen, keep the session organised as it is shot, and give the client a clear view of every frame on reference monitors. The photographer shoots, and we look after everything between the camera and the screen.
The kit that comes with us
Our workstation is the 16 inch M4 Max MacBook Pro on an Inovativ Voyager EVO digi cart with 27 inch 4K Eizo monitors. EcoFlow power stations keep the whole system running, so the workflow carries on wherever the shoot is.
For clients, a 13 inch M4 iPad Pro on a cheese plate runs on its own isolated wireless network, so they can view and rate images in real time.
