Canterbury Blue Boot, the digi tech's side of the shoot

Case study · September 2026

When Canterbury launched the Speed boot, the Blue Boot shoot day brought athletes, agency and crew into the studio for a day of portraits, product and behind the scenes frames. Photographer Angelina Bergenwall shot for agency Pentland with Jaywalk producing and Ben Condell on gaffer duty. Dylan Madden of DigiOp.ie ran the digital side.

On a shoot like this the digi tech is the quiet department that keeps every frame safe and every decision fast. The camera runs tethered into the digi cart, each frame lands on the colour accurate monitor within a second of the shutter, and the client and agency watch the day build on a second screen instead of crowding the camera. Selects are flagged as they happen, backups run continuously to two drives, and the photographer leaves with the day organised, named and safe rather than a card full of maybes.

The kit that ran the Blue Boot day is the same kit on the digi kit hire list: the Inovativ cart, the tethering, the Eizo, the client monitor and the power to run it anywhere. And the person who ran it is on the crew page.
